Boston, MA: Anything worth doing can be done

Updated: Oct 24, 2019

Charlestown, MA //

It's Thursday night, October 18, 2018. We are still docked at Constitution Marina in Charlestown, MA. Between finishing boat projects, provisioning and route planning, Tom and I found time to have a late lunch/early dinner at 5:00pm this afternoon: chinese take-out. I am never one to really eat the fortune cookies that come with (😬🤫 eek!), but this time I was curious as to what they might foretell. We each opened a cookie and in Tom's we found the best possible title for the adventures ahead... After reading it out loud a feeling of relief came over us and we pondered on what it meant to finally get going. We felt butterflies in our stomachs. We were leaving a way of life. It was exciting and scary at the same time...

We've honestly been pretty overwhelmed this week. The cooler weather has definitely set us back, but we know that what's ahead of us will be worth it thousand times over. We've finished going over the weather outlook for the week, and have decided... tomorrow is the day! Whether we make it down to Scituate for the night or stay in one of the harbor islands, any pending projects can and will get done and we will finally be off into our cruising life!
